The Real Secret behind Manifesting has everything to do with two major perceptions, or two ways of looking acting and feeling.

Some years ago I read a little known book by a famous author. It was called, Denial of The Soul, by Scott Peck, who wrote the all time favorite, The Road Less Traveled.

The thing that really hit home to me was his ways of helping his clients make better choices. For example if a client was making a choice that wasn’t in h/her best interest, then he would ask this IMPORTANT QUESTION, “WHAT WOULD YOUR SOUL SAY?”

What was amazing was, that his clients would then go into making a much wiser decision, which was so much more in h/her best interest.

It seems we have within us two different centers of wisdom, the one we normally use and the other we rarely use, yet when or if we do it serves us much more wisely.

Take this little test and see how much more to you there is than you realize.

Have a personal experience now of why this secret is so powerful.

The simple following exercise is more powerful than it seems, follow the instructions closely for this brief self-assessment. Here’s an example of what follows …

If love had a focal point in your body where would that be? Now point to that area with your finger. Make a mental note of this and then continue with the following instructions. If you’re unsure then just use your imagination.

1. Take a couple of seconds to relax
2. Breathe deeply a few times
3. If your ego had a physical center in your body then where would that be?

Point to what you feel is the center for it and each of the following.

4. If your intellect had a physical center in your body where would this be?
5. If your soul had a physical centre in your body, then point to where that is.

If you pointed to your head for your intellect and ego’s location, and to your chest for your Soul’s location, then you now know more than most psychologists or therapists when it comes to your development.

For the last hundred years where do you think Psychologists and Therapists have applied most of their attention towards the Ego or the Soul?

For the most part these Mental Health professionals have always focused on the Ego. Have they been focusing in the wrong area? Could this be why we have seen so little change in the area of personal development over the last hundred years?

What does the word ‘Psychology’ mean? The word ‘Psyche’ in Greek means ‘Soul’

‘ology’ or ‘Logos’ means study or theory. Therefore ‘psychology’ originally meant the study of the ‘soul.’

The big secret is that all these years’ mental health professionals have been into the Denial of The Soul.

Thanks to Freud we began seeing ourselves, as having an ‘Ego’, however he still didn’t make a direct connection to ‘The Soul’ until Scott Peck did some forty years later.

This raises the question, ‘could manifesting our desires from the ‘Ego’ be different than manifesting them from ‘The Soul?’ How would one go about doing this?

  • Be more confident and at ease with yourself and others.
  • Dramatically increase your level of joy, happiness and success.

How is the process different from other coaching methods?

It’s different for Two Very Distinct Reasons.

The big secret is that mental health professionals all these years have been into the Denial of The Soul.

One of the most famous Psychiatrists of the last Century was Dr. Scott Peck who wrote the still popular book, The Road Less Traveled. He also wrote a number of other books one of which is called ‘The Denial of the Soul’

In it he tells how he used ‘Soul Therapy’ with his clients. If he feels a client is making a poor decision, he will often interject and ask, “What would your ‘soul’ say about this decision?” He says it is always amazing how many times this will inspire the client to bring about a more satisfying choice. It’s as if they have two centers of information and the soul being the wiser.

2. Our second reason is…

As the old cliché states, “It is better to give someone in need a fishing pole rather than a fish.”  Traditional coaching and counseling often create dependency on the professional versus providing you with the tools to create the life of your dreams. My focus is to provide you with self-help skills that allow you to have mastery over all areas of your life.

Manifesting: And The Law of Attraction - Part 1 http://www.selfdirectionalinstitute.com/2009/11/manifesting-and-the-law-of-attraction-part-1/ http://www.selfdirectionalinstitute.com/2009/11/manifesting-and-the-law-of-attraction-part-1/#comments Thu, 05 Nov 2009 19:41:24 +0000 admin http://www.selfdirectionalinstitute.com/?p=146 The Quick Fix Spiritual Greed Theory of This Century

Manifesting as in the Law of Attraction misses a key point, which surprisingly may even infringe upon your innate level of fulfillment, purpose, passion and happiness.

You can’t have lasting happiness if you are not sure of who you are, or what your true nature is. Everything starts with, “Identity, and the question, “Who am I?”

Do you want to attract fame, fortune and power?

Now ask yourself the next big question? “Can having fame, fortune, and success give me happiness?”

I think you know the answer to this question. Everyday we read how the rich and famous are being caught in their addictions, divorces and other personal life tragedies.

I’ve had my own experience in regard to the Law of Attraction and how it actually contributed to the unhappiness in my life.

For example, my wife and I decided one day to create an image of the kind of home we both would like to live in. So we went into separate rooms and drew our view of the perfect home setting. Surprisingly both images were the same. It seemed we were together on wanting a house on a hill overlooking the water.

Guess what? Six months later we were living in this beautiful house overlooking a lovely ocean front view. THREE MONTHS LATER WE DIVORCED!

Getting what we wanted, wasn’t necessarily conducive to our being happier, in fact it could have been instrumental in holding us back from what was really right for us.

So what’s the real secret behind the law of attraction?

Remember the old saying, “Be careful what you wish for because you just might get it.”

Carolyn Myss refers to the Law of Attraction, and manifesting, as just another aspect of spiritual greed.

So am I saying you can’t have what you want?

Think a moment; can you really get happiness from the things you want?

Here’s the big secret, “Happiness doesn’t come from things you have or get!!!”

Happiness is your birthright, you already have it and have it abundantly!

“Well how come I can’t feel it?” You say.

Could it be that you’ve bought into your society’s model of how to be happy? This level of social consciousness has been pounded into you by parents, teachers, advertising agencies and your government ever since the day you were born.

This has influenced your focus to look outward for everything including your concept of who you are and how you should live.

Want an example of this? What happens when you look in the mirror? What are you looking for? Usually its to make comparisons about yourself and the clothes you wear to the social standards of the day.

Your Identity then, is formed by the tribal level of consciousness in which you exist. Is this the real you? No, but if its not then who are you and how are you ever going to be happy until you find the real you? When you know who you are, then things you want will always be in harmony with who your true self is.

Without knowing who you truly are, then manifesting things may be furthering the separation and deepening the disconnection you feel from your true nature.

So what is the real secret behind manifesting?

To be continued in my next issue….

I would be happy to have any feedback or insights you might care to offer

The Art of Intuitive Healing http://www.selfdirectionalinstitute.com/2009/09/the-art-of-intuitive-healing/ http://www.selfdirectionalinstitute.com/2009/09/the-art-of-intuitive-healing/#comments Wed, 09 Sep 2009 22:30:42 +0000 admin http://www.selfdirectionalinstitute.com/?p=143 A personal example of how following my intuition changed my life

Like many people, I have had so many intuitive experiences that each of which, when looking back, has made my life far richer than I would ever have believed possible.

My first book, The Art of Purposeful Being: Your Destiny Project starts with a major life changing event due to an intuitive experience I had with a ‘Rainbow’. About ten years earlier we were in Hawaii and I happened to look up and see this ‘Rainbow’ arching over a small church. The image stayed with me to the extent that when I was going through some major difficulties ten years later in ‘93’ I decided to follow my ‘Rainbow.’ This meant, jumping on a plane to Hawaii on the spur of the moment and having an experience that changed my life forever.

My life was transformed

All my life I’ve suffered from depression, and even though I had gone through years of therapy and many different spiritual and metaphysical practices, I always ended up with disappointing results.

It was after this trip that my life began to change. Mainly due to the intuitive revelations I received in Hawaii. Upon my return I began introducing these intuitive insights to my clients and in my workshops. What was amazing was seeing the amount of change they experienced when they adopted these new intuitive processes. I began seeing results that I’d never experienced before. Since then I have continued to upgrade and fine tune the process into what it is today.

People who suffered from things like depression, anxiety and stress, as well as other emotional problems began healing faster than with any of the more traditional methods I’d been using in the past.

Transformation

It’s really about changing consciousness. Society’s education models train us to value our intellect, or ‘left brain thinking.’ It has the view that developing a high IQ is more valuable than learning to access the intuitive aspects of our ‘right brain.’

The people we value as being the most intelligent, such as geniuses like Einstein and Edison did not rely on just their intellect for their theories and inventions.
Albert Einstein said, “None of my theories came about through thinking of them.” He developed his own intuitive process, which gave him access to information from beyond his rational mind.

Thomas Edison had a room attached to his lab where every afternoon he would lock himself away for an hour or two. After his death they found the room contained a bed and his journals. Through studying his journals they realized that he had developed the habit of having naps in the afternoon and programming his dreams to reveal information to help him with the inventions he was working on.

Is success dependent on the intellect and how smart you are?

In a classic study at the University of Texas at Elpaso in the 1980’s, management professor Weston H. Agor tested the intuition of two thousand managers and found that the top-level leaders scored higher on intuition than those ranking lower in the corporate hierarchy. ‘Premonitions’ by Dr. Larry Dossey

The CEO’S with higher Intuitive Scores, never called themselves intuitive, they just felt they were brainier or luckier than most. Imagine what they could have accomplished if they really accepted and honored their intuition.

Imagine being one of these intuitive pioneers who dared to access their intuitive powers, and hence changed the way we view the world. Each of these three examples and others like them has been responsible for the Ideas, theories and inventions that have made our world what it is today. By daring to go outside the box of their intellect they were able to experience what many of us would have previously thought to be impossible.

Can we be trained to access these other levels of consciousness?

Harvard, Stanford and Princeton Universities think so. Each has been studying intuitive and psychic processes for years.

Many universities like Harvard teach Intuition as part of their MBA programs.

We are all intuitive and have these capabilities, yet because of ‘left brain’ dominance in our society we have not paid much attention to the miraculous powers of our intuitive function.
“The only real valuable thing is intuition.” Albert Einstein
The Art of Intuitive Healing Program provides Self Help Intuitive tools that you can take home.

You learn during the program to practice these tools both individually and with other group members, then you can take what you’ve learned home.

Also, by learning to use and trust your Intuitive Faculties you raise your level of success in all areas of your life, including your job, relationships and health.

“Anything Worth Doing is Worth Doing Poorly” http://www.selfdirectionalinstitute.com/2009/07/anything-worth-doing-is-worth-doing-poorly/ http://www.selfdirectionalinstitute.com/2009/07/anything-worth-doing-is-worth-doing-poorly/#comments Thu, 23 Jul 2009 03:40:13 +0000 admin http://www.selfdirectionalinstitute.com/?p=136 I wonder if you have the same reaction to the above title that I had when I first heard it many years ago. Which went like this, “That statement is impossible, we must keep striving for perfection.”

It’s as Marion Woodman says in the first part of her book, Addicted to Perfection, “Perfection is like having a crow on your shoulder who is always cawing in your ear, “You can’t do it good enough, you never will, your no good, your no good!”

What Else Works?

If the above “Anything worth doing…” phrase doesn’t work for you, then what do you think would work better?

Many people come up with something like, “You must always do your best,” Which is just a kinder way of saying…“It must be perfect”.

A Different View

I would ask you a different question, when did you do anything perfectly, or when did you do your best? I propose that you have never done anything perfectly, and furthermore you have never done your best. Think for a moment… couldn’t what you think you have done your best at, or perfectly been improved on in some way or manner, and made a little more perfect, or a little bit better?

Shaping A Child

How would you propose your perfection question to a child? Children love to play and roam and experience all that they can of life. Suppose you were to say to a child in whatever it tries to do, “That isn’t perfect enough, or “You have to do it better, you always have to give everything your best.”
Can you appreciate the life long burden this could place upon a child? One time my son Mark, when he was about eight or nine, brought home a piece of art work he’d worked on at school. This was forty years ago, and I remember saying to him, “It’s good, but not good enough, you have to do things perfectly if you are ever to excel.”

How many times since have I berated myself for making such a dumb statement? Naturally he never showed me any of his art work again even though he had a talent for it.

A Good Example

Another time I was lecturing on ‘perfection’ and I used the above, “Anything worth doing…” phrase to make my point.

A gentleman spoke up and said, “I don’t believe that! Everything I do, I do perfectly. I was trained as an electrician in Germany from when I was twelve years old, now I’m an electrical engineer and I do things perfectly.”

I asked him to tell me if he could recall an incident when people were not doing it perfectly.
After thinking for a moment he exclaimed, “I know, the other night I was at a dance and everyone was dancing in there own way with no pattern, or real form to what they were doing. Then a professional dance couple began dancing, and everybody stood around and watched them do it perfectly!

He said this emphatically, but gradually a grin began to appear, and he broke out laughing. He then said, “I went out to have a cigarette on the veranda and the professional dance couple came out, and began talking, and then arguing that neither of them had done it perfect enough.”

After he said this, I asked the group, “What were the people that were dancing poorly getting out of it?”
They came up with over twenty different things, such as fun, exercise, connecting, social life, romance and so on.

The Future

I have often thought of how the idea that, ‘we have to do things perfectly’ stops us from enjoying so much of life.

I would tell my children now things like, “Anything worth doing, is worth doing as long as you are getting satisfaction and meaning from the doing of it, otherwise don’t do it.” It really doesn’t matter how poorly something is being done, as long as you find gratification in the doing of it.”

It is about the ‘journey’ not the ‘outcome.’

If you were drowning and there were only people around that new how to save you poorly, would you let your self drown because they couldn’t save you perfectly enough?

I would be happy to hear your thoughts regarding the above or anything else that you might think informative.

Is Imagination Making or Destroying Your Life? http://www.selfdirectionalinstitute.com/2009/07/is-imagination-making-or-destroying-your-life/ http://www.selfdirectionalinstitute.com/2009/07/is-imagination-making-or-destroying-your-life/#comments Tue, 14 Jul 2009 17:32:28 +0000 admin http://www.selfdirectionalinstitute.com/?p=134 by: Philip Winkelmans Ph.D

“Imagination is more powerful than thinking … None of my theories came about through thinking of them.” Albert Einstein

The Power of Imagination

Imagination is one of our most powerful mental tools. Just think of the power of something as simple as the Placebo Effect, which is instilled in the imagination of a patient by a doctor’s prescription. Historically, the Placebo Effect (sugar pill) is sixty five percent effective. This makes it one of the most successful of all prescription drugs. It has no side affects, it’s inexpensive and it works on all health challenges. It works by your imagination.

Our Imaginary stories create our outcomes

Through the power of our imagination we are all successful. Philosopher and author Dr. Sam Keen tells how through the Power of Stories we create the outcomes we experience in our lives. He extends this to nations … each having imagined a story or myth by which their country lives by.

This is easy to see, for example, look at the story that Israel and its Moslem neighbors are operating under. Each has created and imagined their own spiritual myth, or story, which to them is worth living and dying for, even though both serve basically the same Old Testament Deity. Their fight over two spiritual myths has lasted for centuries.

Each of us has our own imaginary story that runs our life

As individuals, we also operate under our own unique story or myth, which creates the quality of life we experience from day to day.

Some have experienced financial success due to a story they created early in life. Others stories, have led them to become well known in the arts, while still others stories helped some become successful in politics, academia and so on.

Stories can have positive or negative outcomes.

However, if you stop to think for a moment even homeless or street people have their own stories, which lead them by and large to their present circumstances.

As with the opposite of the Placebo Effect our stories can make us well or sick, even to the point of death.

Whether stories are positive or negative, they provide the mechanism for moving us through our lives.

Silver Spoon

While some may have been born with a ’silver spoon’ the happiness and quality of life they live is also about the type of story they run in their heads.

Many of the rich and famous experience a lot more problems than the so called less fortunate. Every day the media exposes their shortcomings for all the world to see. Their troubles, such as divorce, abuse and addictions seem to dominate the airwaves. A recent example we just witnessed was how a successful star like Michael Jackson can lead a life of self-destruction.

The point is whether you are rich or famous, poor or destitute; none of this seems have much bearing on the depth of happiness you experience. In the end it is up to your imagination and the story you live your life by, which indicates the level of happiness you are experiencing.

Where do these stories originate from?

Usually from childhood, as a child you interpreted events through a child’s eyes, from which you created your guiding story or myth that you are probably still living with today.

Want to find your story or guiding myth?

Sam Keen, as mentioned earlier, suggests you go back to your three earliest childhood memories if you want to find what went on in those events that is still impacting your life today.

Your story may be your greatest gift or greatest curse

Much of the abuse I suffered as a child left me with the story that, ‘I would never amount to anything.” That story has been in a way my greatest gift. I have spent most of my life trying to prove otherwise, and I know now I would never have accomplished what I did without the prodding I received from this negative input.

Not that I recommend abuse as a form of parenting, who’s to say how much more could have been accomplished by having a more encouraging and positive environment?

Since realizing this, my new story is, “I live in a world of unlimited opportunities and anything is possible.”

What does stories and myths mean?

They are figments of our imagination created by us or others, which we accepted as our own. Until we pay attention to the stories and myths we are running, we are destined to repeat the same outcomes over and over again.

Is Your Brain Holding You Back ? http://www.selfdirectionalinstitute.com/2009/07/is-your-brain-holding-you-back/ http://www.selfdirectionalinstitute.com/2009/07/is-your-brain-holding-you-back/#comments Wed, 01 Jul 2009 16:50:37 +0000 admin http://www.selfdirectionalinstitute.com/?p=91 brain-scanEver wonder why your life isn’t moving forward as fast as you would like?

You dream of having it all together, but stress, anxiety and depression are often becoming the norm? Or you’re lost in transition and your expectations are turning into futile desires and empty dreams.

The Big Secret

You might be thinking I am going to offer you another quick fix, or ask you just to trust me, as I have all the answers. I don’t have the answers for your life or your maladies, neither does anyone else, but I know who has. Here’s the big secret…

YOU HAVE! That’s right, YOU HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS, YOU JUST HAVEN”T KNOWN WHERE TO FIND THEM.

You’re probably wondering, “If I have all the answers, then how come my life is so screwed up?” Or, “Why am I not experiencing more success, intimacy and a happier life?” Do you have to be intelligent, brilliant or smart to have the life you want?

Can you guess who I am talking about from the following story?

Once there was a young man that lived a fairly average life, his school grades were mediocre; he graduated and took on a job as a clerk in a small Patent Office. Then one day he came across a process that made him one of the smartest men in the world. His advice to others was…

“Nothing can be solved at the level of consciousness where it exists. None of my theories ever came by thinking of them.” If you haven’t guessed it already, then know this person was… Albert Einstein.

Let’s take the case of Thomas Edison. He had a small locked room in his Lab where he would go every afternoon for an hour or so. No one knew what he did there until after he died. After his death they broke into the room and found a bed with a bunch of journals lying around. They came to the conclusion he went into this room to sleep and program his dreams to give him answers to the inventions he was working on.

‘In a classic study at the University of Texas at Elpaso in the 1980’s, management professor Weston H. Agor tested the intuition of two thousand managers and found that the top-level leaders scored higher on intuition than those ranking lower in the corporate hierarchy.’ Premonitions by Dr. Larry Dossey

What does the above three cases have in common?

albert-einstein
In each case they succeeded because they went beyond their intellect and rational minds and instead relied on DIFFERENT FORMS OF INTUITION to succeed in their endeavors.

Our Western world is stuck in the area of Left Brain Thinking, and for this we pay a price. My observations show me that ‘Reason and the Intellect’ are not the main essentials for a happy or successful life. In fact they often are a handicap for having the life you really want.

Most of our education consisted of rewards for Left-brain Thinking. Ever since you were young our society has impressed upon you the value of left brain type thinking. You were rewarded in school by your teachers and parents for your high grade scores. Daydreaming, playing with images, such as those in your dreams, and other intuitive phenomena were considered not rational. Yet, this didn’t stop people from having dreams or nightmares. They were there in spite of what one believed.

Was it just luck?

Nor has your Left Brain education stopped you from having intuitive experiences even when you didn’t believe in them. Experiences such as De Je Vus, sudden flashes of insight, hunches, premonitions, and other intuitive inspirations came whether you believed in them or not. Yet, you never gave them the place of honor they deserved. Instead if you honored them at all you would just pass them all off as luck.

The CEO’S referred to earlier with higher Intuitive Scores, never called themselves intuitive, they just felt they were brainier or luckier than most. Imagine what they could have accomplished if they really accepted and honored their intuition.

Having difficulty with your emotions, or a feeling of being lost in transition? Contact us to discuss your situation and see what would work best for you. Or try one of Dr. Winkelmans many workshops, or personal telephone sessions that quickly goes to the root of your problems and concerns.

Unleashing Your Intuition http://www.selfdirectionalinstitute.com/2009/05/unleashing-your-intuition/ http://www.selfdirectionalinstitute.com/2009/05/unleashing-your-intuition/#comments Thu, 21 May 2009 16:56:13 +0000 admin http://www.selfdirectionalinstitute.com/?p=58 Intuitive Healing is a result of thirty years of exploring various mind/body/spiritual practices and therapies. It began with my own mid-life crisis, and became a search for answers to the dark and depressing moods I was experiencing

As time passed I felt a desire to make transformational work my profession and managed after the age of Fifty Four to go to University and acquire three degrees. However, in spite of my professional training my depression didn’t go away.

My Break Through

Finally in ‘93’ due to some ‘intuitive’ and ‘chance coincidences’ I went on a journey that ended with a discovery that changed my life forever. I experienced for the first time a new breath of freedom and excitement that I hadn’t felt in years.

The Process

This process, which I now call Intuitive Healing involves accessing areas beyond the rational brain, or our self-limiting ego. As Einstein said, “None of my theories came about through thinking of them.”

In our left brain dominated society we have forsaken much of our own intuitive wisdom and intelligence. For example Scott Peck in his book, “Denial of the Soul” tells about the power of intuitive healing. He claimed that whenever a client was making a decision he felt wasn’t in the client’s best interest, he would ask them, “What would your soul say?” After which, and much to his own surprise, he found that they always came up with a wiser answer that would serve them better.

Unleashing Intuition

Intuitive processes like Einstein, Scott Peck and others have used, are the inspiration behind the Intuitive Healing workshops I do now. Unlike former therapies participants are now experiencing the transformational powers of their own deep inner wisdom, which helps them transcend their previous limitations and rise to higher and ever higher levels of consciousness and success in all areas of their lives.

Tools For The Soul

Discovering this Intuitive transforming power has provided the creative juices needed to produce outstanding workshops, books and my own proprietary Intuitive Tools For The Soul® System, which creates changes unlike anything I’ve seen in the past.

Helping Professionals, can train for accreditation in teaching these skills

Due to popular demand, many of my participants have asked how they too could teach, counsel or facilitate this Intuitive Healing Process. To meet this demand I, with the help of other assistants have put together a program to meet this need.

While All Intuitive Healing Programs are open to anyone, those who have other Helping Professional backgrounds see these Intuitive tools as an added benefit to any other healing modalities they may be currently using.

Therefore the basic Intuitive Healing Five Day Program can be added as an adjunct to other therapies, coaching or counseling skills. You do receive a certificate upon completion of this program.

Or you can specialize and become one of our Intuitive Life Coaches. Additional training is involved.

Intuitive Life Coaches can use their intuitive tools and skills to work with the whole person, Body (Physical Health). Mind, (Mental Health and Wellness). Spiritual, (Getting to the soul of ones internal riches and well being).

Philip Winkelmans Ph.D Founder of Self-Directional Institute; he has written the internationally acclaimed book The Art of Purposeful Being; Your Destiny Project, and is a Keynote Speaker. He often appears on TV and Radio Talk Shows.

The Art of Having a Love Affair - With Yourself http://www.selfdirectionalinstitute.com/2009/05/the-art-of-having-a-love-affair-with-yourself/ http://www.selfdirectionalinstitute.com/2009/05/the-art-of-having-a-love-affair-with-yourself/#comments Thu, 14 May 2009 16:44:49 +0000 admin http://www.selfdirectionalinstitute.com/?p=22 Dr. Phil Winkelmans, author, coach and therapist, feels that there are two main reasons why many of us do not love ourselves to the extent we should.

1) Most of us don’t know who we really are. How can you love some one you don’t really know? Self-awareness is a precursor to self-love, otherwise we try to make others give us our identity and provide us with the love we need.

2) Even if we know who we are, most of us still wouldn’t know how to go about loving ourselves.

Dr. Winkelmans says the reason he used the word affair is that you must enter into a relationship with yourself that at first for many may seem strange and even a little challenging.

When you begin to have a love affair with yourself it tends to bring up feelings of guilt and memories of old messages on how we were told to put others first and ourselves last. So in the beginning it takes some courage to risk loving yourself in spite of what you have been told in the past. Dr. Winkelmans puts it this way, “If you can’t love yourself, how can you expect anyone else to?”

Watch for upcoming seminars on our ‘Schedule” page of our Website. For further information call, 1 (888) 877-1872 According to Dr. Winkelmans, most of us have allowed all kinds of feelings and emotions to enter our lives. Depression, anger, anxiety, stress, grief, hate, blame, addictions, guilt, rejection, and the list goes on and on. These feelings mean, you do no longer love yourself in an edifying, joyful and blissful way.

In a sense you are out of control and your feelings and emotions are in control. What above all else gets you in trouble in your relationships?

If you really think about it, you would probably agree it’s your feelings and emotions. Such as anger, blame, neediness etc.

What is the most difficult problem you have working with others? Isn’t it your feelings and emotions, meaning the way, and manner you react to others?

If you were to examine what stops you from going for your dreams, who you really want to be, what you truly want to do and have, it would probably boil down to your feelings of fear, anxiety and even low self-worth.

Dr. Winkelmans suggests that what gets in the way of having a spiritual life of bliss, ecstasy and joy are usually the layers of unwanted and unrecognized feelings and emotions that run your life ahead of the spirit.

Using an example that compares one’s life to a bus, Dr. Winkelmans says, “imagine that your bus can’t move forward as much as you would like because you have unwanted emotions and feelings,* which he suggests are your own personal inner terrorists. These emotional terrorists can, in fact, stop your bus from moving forward effectively until you kick them off your bus and deal with them.

What Dr. Winkelmans claims his seminars do is provide you with the latest psychological-intuitive energy self-healing techniques and tools that put the control of your bus back in your hands. You learn skills you can use not only on your self but your friends and family members as well.

This allows you to enjoy not only emotional freedom and become more stress free, but it will also allow the true you to be more fully present. As these other conditions begin falling away you begin to feel the true joy of being your wonderful, joyful, ecstatic self. You will begin to love and appreciate the great and wonderful person you really are.

What I Want In a Relationship: He Said / She Said http://www.selfdirectionalinstitute.com/2009/05/soul-searching-thoughts-on-relationships/ http://www.selfdirectionalinstitute.com/2009/05/soul-searching-thoughts-on-relationships/#comments Thu, 14 May 2009 16:42:18 +0000 admin http://www.selfdirectionalinstitute.com/?p=19 Soul searching thoughts on relationships.

He Said…

I cannot speak to your wants, only mine.

In the past I would always give way to external attractiveness, beauty, lust and romance. These were false gods that always came to naught.

Now I realize there is so much more I would need to know.

I’d want to know who is your Sovereign, what Gods are you accountable to, which Lords of the earthen world whole sway over your life and how deeply are you enslaved?

Are you caught up by things, riches, power and fame?

Are you in love with the idea of love, romance, lust and appearances? Or are you wanting to give, share and love another without expectations, controls or demands?

Do you know your wants and needs, and are you able to fulfill them yourself, or do you expect another to do it for you.

Do you need a rescuer, a savior, a hero or provider?

What does give and take mean to you?

I’d want to know; what are your values and what does integrity means to you. How loyal and committed can you be.

Would you only be there for the glory, the successes and the good times?

Or would you be there when I’m down and out and can’t get up after being defeated by one of life’s cruel blows?

Would you be open to my fierce, dark and bitter moods? What if at times I chase you away when I need to go through these dark valleys of death alone?

Or when I feel you are too close, your presence too restricting, and I feel too compressed, would you be okay with absence for whatever reason?

What space in your life would I occupy, what space would be mine and mine alone, what would I have to share and what would I have to give up?

How would I know you loved me? By what standards, expressions and actions are your ways of expressing love?

How kind are you to another, sister and brother, stranger and foe?

Would you see me as an object needing repair, something to be shaped into an image of your own making? What level of control do you like to exercise?

What do you play at, kick up your heels and enjoy?

How do you handle your emotions and how volatile are they? How fast do you forget? How quick do you return to your lover’s bed after a battle?

These are the things I’d want to know about you and would want you to know about me.

I want to know what you’re made of under your external beauty and appeal.

Tell me what makes you laugh, what makes you cry, crazy, or mad. What are your fears, your insecurities?

I want to know your character, your gifts talents and dreams. Can we travel on the same road? Will our aspirations and interests bring us together or keep us apart?

I want to know everything about your past, present and future that is worth knowing.

You see I want to know the very make up of your soul. Can you really want to know mine?

Here’s What I Need; What Do You Need?
by Dr. PHIL Winkelmans

She Said…

by Linda Coldeway

Who are you?

Do you have holes, like a sieve, that you are looking for me to pour sand
into until my beaches are rocky and barren?

Are you wanting me to be your caretaker, your mother or your punching bag?

When your life doesn’t go the way you planned will you try to take me down
with you?

Will the mere thought of my walking down the path with you, fill you with a
warm glow from somewhere deep within?

Will my smile pierce your heart?
Will you be able stand looking at the light within me without feeling the
need to dimmer it just a bit?

Will you be able to Hear me without putting on some cloak of armor to
protect yourself?

Will you honor my spirit?

Will I be able to dance, sing and be joyful?

Hold me.

If I need you to hold me, will there be 5 minutes in your day that you would
give up just to “BE” with me.

What part of loving unconditionally don’t you understand?
Is your greatest wound, your greatest gift?

Are you weary from fighting life’s battles, or do you celebrate your
victories?

Do you jump out of the bushes at night and scare yourself? Will you scare
me?

Do you shoot daggers at yourself and others?

Do you preach the Power of Now while you wallow in the mud of your past
injustices?

Will you respect me enough to let me feel my own pain? And will you
understand when I don’t reach out my hand to help you deal with yours?

Do you love yourself enough to love me?

Are you still enough, quiet enough to hear your heart speak? Will you be
able to hear mine?

Are you good enough for You?

If not, then why would you be good enough for me?
